The 3rd expansion for WoW has been released, and Genesis is back in action. With the introduction of new races and new content, as well as guild leveling and a revamped Azeroth, there’s no shortage of things for the guild to sink their teeth into. The new expansion has also brought about a resurgence in our sister guild, For Baehoo! Lots of stuff to do and plenty of time to do it in. Hope everyone is having fun and happy hunting to you all!
Combined Alliance To Horde Emigration Transfer Encouraging Revitalization or CATHETER as we are calling it, is a joint effort among many older guilds on the server to pump some vitality back into the Horde side of Medivh. As most of you may know, the majority of Medivh’s Horde presence has left our server for greener pastures. This has left the Horde economy, raiding scene, and pvp scene in utter shambles. Wintergrasp can only be taken during the most off peak of hours, Ice Crown Citadel is a pugfest, and a Runic Potion of Healing costs 500 gold.
So in order to combat this travesty, Genesis will be transferring to the Horde side of Medivh. You have plenty of time to get your affairs in order seeing as the planned date for operation CATHETER is May 1st. There are some things though that we will be requiring in order to help make the insertion of CATHETERs into Horde society as painless as possible.
1) All gnomes are required to become Blood Elves so that we can continue to pick on you relentlessly. Since blood elves cannot be warriors, Gnome warriors will simply delete their characters and uninstall WoW.
2) Anyone who becomes a Tauren must begin AND end every sentence with “moo.” Also, any Tauren males who say any variation of the phrase “Milk me.” will be kicked from the guild immediately.
3) Anyone who firmly supported King Varian and his whiney racist ways must now do the same for Garrosh. Since your stance was based on no kind of logic, this transition should be pretty easy for you.
4) In order to ensure the economic recovery of the horde side and its continued prosperity in the future, all players who want guild bank access will be required to get a Blizzard Authenticator. You will then summon your corehound pet in front of an officer before you are granted access. A series of movement commands (which may include mailbox dancing) given over Vent will also be required of you to help ensure your identity.
5) Nemain will be left behind on the Aliance side to make sure all of our guildies safely make the transition. Once every member of Genesis has transferred over, Nemain will shut down and switch to life support mode until a time when his services will be needed again.
We appreciate your cooperation and support of this massive endeavour. The Horde Guild will be named “Swan Song” and the tabard will be bright pink with a dark purple trim and a dark purple muffin. Any concerns or complaints should be directed towards Warprattler as he will be keeping an up to date database of all such concerns. Be sure to let him know what your most wanted improvement to the guild would be so that he can display that on a seperate sheet entitled MWI.
Good Luck and welcome to the Horde! Lok’tar ogar!
Team Rocket Surgery has been busy the past few months with the release of Ice Crown Citadel. Lord Marrowgar and his BOOOOOOOOONE STORM (once tuned to 10 man damage levels) were no match for the team. Neither was lady Deathwhisper’s rants or the Horde’s aerial assault. Saurfang the Younger in his new death knight duds was a bit of a speed bump but tactical fights have never really been a show stopper for Team Rocket. Within the first few weeks they had the first wing down to one shots but the abominations Festergut and Rotface were proving to be formidable opponents. Finally though after a full night of wipes, Festergut farted out his last gass cloud. Shortly thereafter, Rotface pooped his last “angry poop.” Professor Putricide better watch out!
On a whim one weekend, between ICC attempts, Team Rocket Surgery decided to try their hand at a Sartharion three drake kill. It was still tougher than you’d think given its now 3 teir’s of difficulty removed. Regardless, after a few attemtps they got Sartharion down before his drakes could make a mess of things. Lesson learned: Hard modes are Hard.
With the rebirth of Team Phoenix on the horizon, Genesis is bound to make some serious headway through the Lich King’s lair. Good luck to everyone and happy hunting!
Earlier this week we lost a great friend of Genesis. Bucky Bryant, who most of you know as Biznar, died in the early hours of Monday, the 2nd of November. Both past and current members had the privilege of getting to know Bucky since he joined us nearly 2 full years ago on November 18th of 2007. From the beginning, his sense of humor meshed so well with the people of Genesis and he quickly became one of our more memorable members.
He was instrumental, along with Duille and Urthor, in bringing a huge influx of members into the Genesis family from the Maelstrom server that rivaled the Haitian Invasion and Denominators Merger earlier in the life of our guild. His love of flow charts added a sense of humor and quirky logic to just about any discussion we had on these boards and his love of fire became one of the inside jokes that’ll live forever in our guild. Right up there with beating people with shoes, flagrantly unnecessary g-kicks, and raiding without pants. Even when he left the guild to play with his RL friends and then stopped playing the game entirely, he remained a constant presence on our forums by either razzing Mark in the shout box, posting random fire related posts in off-topic, or just giving his $.02 in our general conversations. Nearly every member present and past knew of Bucky and knew he was a stand up guy. Everything about him will be missed by everyone in the Genesis family.
If you would like to send your condolences to his wife, Heather, please send your cards or flowers to the address found here.
A floral arrangement has been purchased in the name of Genesis and Rebel Scum. If you would like to help with the cost of the arrangement or simply donate money to help Heather through this tough time, information on this can be found here.
Information concerning the services for Bucky can be found here.
Feel free to post links to pictures or screen shots to remember and pay tribute to Bucky in the forums here.
